Japan Sabre Barlow EDC

Here is a Japanes Sabre Barlow that I rehandled in Wenge wood, and made brass threaded bolsters for it.
It is 3-5/16" long with original carbon steel blades. Both blades are about an 8 or 9 to pull open, and snap like bear traps! The Main has some light pitting, and I have carried it and oiled it enough to establish a light patina. It is a heavy user, and a thick little handful!
The threading is not perfectly straight on the bolsters, but it was my first attempt and I am still proud of it.

It looks great. How was working the Wenge? I have a big piece on hand, but have not used any on knife handles yet. I have turned some pens from Wenge and it seemed like it wanted to splinter. What did you use for finish?

The wenge cuts and sands well with no splintering. It does have a few open pores, but nothing bad.
This is the second knife that I have handled in it, and I put no finish on either one. I cleaned it with mineral oil after sanding it, and I am sure that a finish would help fill those pores, but it looks good to me without it.
Handling the knife appears to make the wood look even smoother and more shiny.
I recommend it!
