NYK

Here is one I'm watching that does not look right at all, the seller has some other knives for auction that look good but not this one, blade profile looks all wrong and does not look like an old finish on it?? Thoughts?

I can’t say what is wrong but…. Something doesn’t look right. It’s hard to tell from a photograph so I always prefer to see what I’m getting. If in doubt, pass on it. One thing I noticed is that it looks too good. It’s been cleaned at least. It’s also no bargain with the bid already that high.
"The Edge...There is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.

Mike I was thinking the same thing when I first saw it. Although I've seen that pattern before (maybe Union or KABAR?) I've never seen it made by NYK.

Frame/handles look genuine and old, but not necessarily NYK. The blades look too modern, very flat, no swedging, too polished, new looking stamps with rounded letters.

Look at the seller's DE jack - also looks like a modern made fake.

Yep I saw that one too and agree I think both the DE and the NYK are fakes.

Sellers says he had the blades cleaned but left the springs alone. Maybe
he should have left the blades alone- brought in suspicion at a very
minimum.

I guess part of the question is could you clean up scratched blades
to look this good? I think you can but I am not an expert regarding
the blades or the knife in general.

Anyway, if the knife is authentic it would have been a beaut,
