Our total of snow in Sioux Falls was 13 inches over the last 2 days. It is going to be about 17 below zero here tomorrow morning.

At this very moment we are in the middle of a thunderstorm. We have had rain with 68 mph wind gusts and some pea size hail that only lasted a couple of minutes. My son over in Wise county has seen much worse. His house sits up on a hill with nothing blocking any wind and his home weather station has recorded an 80 mph gust. They have some flooding from sideway rain coming in under the door on the west side of the house. There not sure yet if the chicken coop is still there. There have not been any reports of tornadoes yet, just the straight-line winds and lots of rain.

Sorry to see this, bighomer. I found out yesterday afternoon that we had damage to the farmhouse roof. Calling the insurance company first thing tomorrow morning.

It was a scorcher this past weekend at the farm, which fostered some severe thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday. The bottom picture captured a fly in flight.

Our current temp is 76 with a forecasted high of 106 degrees plus a heat index somewhere at or above 118 degrees.

From yesterday and this is in the patio shade!

Our temp right now is 102º and it was 104º earlier. The humidity is uncharacteristically low at 25% but is rising.
We have been at or above 104º for the last 11 or 12 days. Welcome to Texas in the summertime.

David, Saying we're 20 degrees cooler doesn't seem to help.
Storms are sliding by with no measurable perception, lots of clouds and thunder but temperature is still in the low 90s along with the humidity.
By the way, how cold did it get in your part of Texas last year?

Late December 22 through early February 23 our lows were in the teens with the lowest being 10 F two days in a row. Many of the daytime highs were below freezing. In July 22 we had two days in a row that we reached 111 F. I think 2022 was an extreme year for DFW and the North Texas area.

It is a hot one in P'ville today! Here is a readout from an electronic thermometer in my back yard. The humidity is low and we have had several bad fires in the local area.

We finally got some rain tonight in North Texas. About 10pm tonight. I went out and sat on the patio and just watched and smelled it. Managed to capture the tail end of a couple of lightening strikes. Was trying to capture some of the big bolts shooting across the sky - but I guess I am not as quick as lightening.
