Did some grinding today

Post by muskrat man »

I do some grinding every day but today I blanked out 6 blades. here are 4 of them shaped and rough ground.

3 of these are prototypes for new models I'll be listing on my website within the next 2 weeks. The 4th is a nessmuk I have to finish up for an order.
Image
Top to Bottom:
small drop point 3-4 finger EDC/pocket knife/necker depending on how large your hands are. not sure what this one will get yet
Image
Wharnie based off my PSK handle, would also make a nice EDC might call this one the "pocket wharnecliffe" this one might get turq/black micarta
Image
next is a larger 4" blade drop point hunter that will have a classier name than drop point hunter. this will get wood
Image
These are all 1/8" L6, the drop point hunter actually will turn out closer to 3/32" after final grinding and smoothing out the distal taper.

Also got a 5" blade spearpoint boot knife in the works but ran out of fire before I got it finish profiled

Still debating whether or not to clean the flats on the top two or leave them dark for contrast and am not dead set on handle material yet. Input?

MM,

Great looking start on them babies.

The top one is crying out to me to have some nickel bolsters and possibly end caps and black lipped pearl. With some nice vine on the spine.

Just my IMO. I know whatever you do with them they will all be great! ::tu::

Thanks for sharing them with us!
God Bless!

Yes, I think that would be a good platform for a fancy knife. I'll build one some day I'm just stuck on utilarian knives. I've got some nice olivewood glued up on it now. I'll be finishing them out today. The nessmuk got snakewood, the wharnie got turq/blk micarta, and the larger drop point got stab. amboyna burl
