Show Us Your Camillus Knives!

The Camillus Cutlery Company was one of the oldest knife manufacturers in the United States with roots dating back to 1876. The company manufactured Camillus branded knives and was a prolific contractor for other knife brands up until its last days in 2007 when the company filed for bankruptcy.

Just cleaned this one up. It still needs more work, but it is a great knife!

I wonder, however... the scales... celluloid? ::shrug::

It gets a ::tu:: from me, too! No clue if it's celluloid, though.

I think these Scout knives are very underrated. ::hmm:: they are really a great value. I used to sell the extra ones I came across in my collection, then I thought " ::hmm:: ...hey, I can only replace one easily with a Chinese (Chi-com) made knife...forget that! I am keeping it"

Here are my new pick-ups, 2 sweet finds. I have been wanting a #9 or #10 ever since seeing them posted here in this forum. So I was happy to find this #9 ::nod:: I have been looking for a 4 line big stockman for a while, and now I found one and I love it! ::nod:: Super strong snap, sweet walk 'n talk, solid firm blades, no wobble. I am a sucker for most premium "stockmen" knives, but the tang stamp just makes it all the sweeter ::nod:: It is as strong and solid as you could hope for in a knife that is brand new... ::hmm:: and this baby is maybe around 80-90 years old. :) The tang stamp shown here is known as Camillus' four-line stamp. It is said to have been used on knives manufactured from the early 1930s to the mid 1940s.

Nice save on the knives. That old stockman is a great edc. They hold a good edge and are just the right size for the pocket. That #9 looks to be in good shape. We will make a Camillus collector out of you yet .
