Hello, I'm pretty new at this stuff, but I just recently have been passed the honor of holding onto my grandfathers pocket knife for a while. It was given to him as a boy & It's an old Camillus. From what I've found out so far is that its a switchback with a long clip blade, 5" closed. I believe it was made shortly after World War 1, that's when they started their stainless steel work. It has the number 5 on the blade (not sure what that means yet) but it's in bad shape. The tip of the blade has been snapped off & there are some cracks on the handle which is possibly Ivory. I've been having such a good time looking this stuff up that I thought I'd sign up here & see if anyone would be willing to share some Camillus wisdom with me.
Thank you/ Bernhard

That's a great old fisherman's knife you have. Nice to have a family herloom with some history behind it. Bet your old granddad sharpened a few hooks and cleaned a bunch of bluegill with that one years ago.

Hello Bernhard
I would show you some of my Fishing folders but we are in the Member Introductions forum so I won't.
You keep that one that your Grand-Dad had. Best to pass it on to a son some day. Perhaps with a photo of him too.
