I don't doubt that they'll look much better after they get the glennbad touch. Good score! ::tu::

Got lucky today. Pawn shop, near mint, Japan-made IXL. I've been finding some really well-made Japanese knives lately for great prices. This one is 5" closed, beautiful ebony scales, brass-lined lanyard hole, original edge. A well made piece. I don't know anything about the Wostenholme--Japan connection, date, etc.??
Any info appreciated. J.O'.

I have several of them I bought from the sister of a dealer that passed away several years ago. I can't recall seeing another one posted here (I might have missed it, if they have been ::shrug:: ). For me it has been a high quality group of knives, great for EDC... not so great trying to sell, ::shrug:: I am not sure why ::shrug:: I tried to sell some at a couple of gun shows and at a flea market ... I don't think I ever sold one at all. They made a nice mini-trapper that I EDC and a medium and larger lock-back (like yours) that I EDC. I think you got a great knife there. ::tu:: ::tu:: ::nod::

Thanks Dog. I've been reading something about Jim Parker buying up the Wostenholm blade inventory in the '80's and sending it to Japan for frames. Agree Asian, including Japanese, stuff is hard to sell for what their quality would dictate. Not to brag, but I gave $3 for it in a local pawn shop. It's a helluva lot better than that! I generally don't buy Asian, especially Chinese, for personal reasons, but knives from Seki are a different animal. They've proven their quality. JMHO.

JMHO J.O'. YSI (You Stole' It) at $3.00 ::oh_my:: I was asking $15-$20 for them at some shows and could not sell a single one... ::facepalm:: Here are photos of my trapper, that I just took before you posted. I think that sounds right about Jim Parker buying up the Wostenholm blade inventory in the '80's and sending it to Japan for frames, because the blades have a "Japan" etched on them, not stamped and as they came to the US, finally from Japan, I would assume ::hmm:: , they were marked there.

I think these knives are worth more than $20, that is what you pay for a Rough Ryder now. Cold Steel and Spyderco have had some awesome knives from Japan. I agree, knives from Seki are a different animal.
