In a moment of weakness I snagged another Moki from SSK. This time it was the 533 in barbed wire jigged bone. Thanks again Mark!

Then it was a good "moment", Rick!
I have one of each of the 433's, blue lapis and sunset barbed-wire, and they are 2 of my finer choices.
Watch out though, it sounds like you're hooked! lol!

I was stoked to see my Moki from Mark was scheduled for delivery Saturday. Then the USPS tracking gave this message. I guess the mailman got dog bit?

That's a first for me, Rick, I've not seen that before from the P.O.! ::shrug::
At least it's still coming, and it's definitely worth the wait! ::pace::

Received my Moki 533 today. I can't begin to describe the fit and finish on this knife. The Japanese have been making blades for a thousand years before our country existed and it shows in this knife! Thanks again Mark!

They certainly are nice knives, huh, Rick.
I'm curious as to the reason you chose the 533 the shorter model over the 433 the longer one? Thx!

Thanks for the question. i got the longer 433 in the blue bone so I went with the shorter this time.

I don't know if I could carry this knife. It's that nice. I would be surprised if a hair could be inserted between the rear of the blade and back spacer.

Glad you like it Rick. I think your pictures are better than mine. It really is better in hand than in the photos. I went with the satin finish to sort of encourage people to use this one, not as likely to show marks on the blade, plus Moki suggested it for the aesthetics with the handles. Figured I’d make this one different from the first one.
The run up is the first thing I noticed about Moki’s years ago. Never knew, until then, that a knife could be made to such high tolerances until I got my first Moki. That knife changed everything for me.

So after confirming SSK didn't have the stag 433 in stock I ordered it from GPK. My rationalization for the purchase was two fold. First, my son had to have my blue bone 433 for his birthday so I JUST HAD to replace it, second, Merry Christmas to me! Will post pics when it arrives.

As an update to my purchase of the amber stag Moki 433, according to USPS, my knife shipped from GPK in Illinois to Dallas to El Paso, which is an hour away, to Las Vegas to Phoenix and now enroute to who-knows-where. Supposed to have been delivered over a week ago. I will never trust USPS with another knife. Slimes.

Mark, I vote to make you the official Moki dealer for AAPK. I will just send you half my monthly paycheck to apply against my account. Sound good? Who's with me?

Sounds Great Rick to me Rick. Moki’s are addictive, they should come with a warning label.

Mark,
You stated in one of your ads that you hoped to have more special edition Mokis. Are you planning dazzling us with the next one soon I hope? Maybe some purple or green barn board bone? Spalted Hackberry?

Rick, I do not have any in the pipeline at this point. I know it’s taking about a year to get on the schedule so it won’t probably happen in 2024, but I am definitely thinking about it.

Received a pm the other day from Railsplitter that he was going to sell this Lakota Teal that I sold him about 4 years ago and asked me if I wanted first dibs. Of course I said yes. I’ve had just about every one of these Lakota Teals with the semiprecious stones and inlays, but this one is my favorite. Love the green malachite and green is my favorite color anyway. The pearl inlays and the nickel silver spacers are a nice touch. This is one that I always wished I had kept so I was glad to get it back. This design is so neat. This knife is designed to be able to place it down on edge so that you can pick it back up easier for tasks that require a lot of pick up and put down of the cutting surface, ingenious. Moki made these back in the 90’s and they haven’t been made since.

Very nice to have that Moki back in your hands, Mark, if memory serves me I recall viewing it while it was listed in your store.
It's a small world this knife world we live in, huh!
