This morning, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest multi tool pocket knife, with a glass cutter, to be added to my collection. It is an UNBRANDED, one blade, four tools (a pipe reamer, a pipe bowl scraper, a corkscrew and a glass cutter), 3 5/8" closed, all metal (except for the two "tortoise" handle scales), multi tool, pocket knife. It is also a cigar cutter. I can not find any marking(s) or stamp(s), anywhere on this pocket knife. This is the first multi tool, glass cutter pocket knife that I have seen, that has tools for pipe smokers. The blade has a good half stop and a crisp opening and closing snap. The pipe bowl scraper has a soft half stop and a good opening and closing snap. The pipe reamer has a soft half stop and an ok opening and closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It needed a very minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.
Caption(s), if any, are on the BOTTOM of the corresponding picture(s).

***** NOTE *****
I have reason to believe that this pocket knife is a
ROYAL BRAND CUTLERY Cᴏ̲ GERMANY pocket knife.
Why? Check back in a couple of days to find out.

A couple of days ago, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest multi tool pocket knife, with a glass cutter, to be added to my collection. It is a ROYAL BRAND, one blade, four tools (a pipe reamer, a pipe bowl scraper, a corkscrew and a glass cutter), one tang stamp, 3 5/8" closed, all metal (except for the two "tortoise" handle scales), multi tool, pocket knife. It is also a cigar cutter. The main blade front tang stamp says, "ROYAL BRAND (over) CUTLERY Cᴏ̲ (over) GERMANY" Per GOINS, c 1914-1954 (see picture #9). The blade has no half stop and no opening or closing snap. The pipe bowl scraper has no half stop, but has a soft opening and closing snap. The pipe reamer has a soft half stop, but has an ok opening and closing snap. This is my second multi tool, glass cutter pocket knife that has tools for pipe smokers. But, this is my first multi tool, glass cutter pocket knife that has this tang stamp. My other glass cutter, pipe smoker pocket knife was posted under this topic or thread on Friday, September 22, 2023 (my previous post). It is UNBRANDED, but I am 99.999% sure that it too is a ROYAL BRAND CUTLERY Cᴏ̲ GERMANY pocket knife. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It needed a very minor cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

It also becomes the latest multi tool pocket knife, with a glass cutter, to be added to my collection. It is a GELBROS Co, one blade, three tools (a cap lifter or bottle opener, a corkscrew and a glass cutter), one tang stamp, 3 5/8" closed, all metal (except for the two "tortoise" handle scales), multi tool, pocket knife. Nice knives Skip. I’m surprised at the number of what I assumed to be a specialized style of knife you have accumulated. Was it something for the glazier trade or is there another reason so many are out there?

I still have no idea why glass cutters and corkscrews were paired up.

A couple of days ago, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread and to be added to my glass cutter, pocket knife collection. It is an A - G & J(?) - PRODUCT, one blade, two tools (a can opener and a glass cutter), three tang stamps, 3 5/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. This pocket knife did have a bail, but it doesn't now. The main blade front tang stamp says, "A (over) G & J(?) (over) PRODUCT (inside a rhombus) (over) GERMANY" The main blade back tang stamp says "GERMANY" The tang stamp on the glass cutter tool is just a plain symbol or logo with NO text. This is my fifth, "A - G & J(?)", multi-tool with glass cutter, pocket knife. The other four have been previously posted under this topic or thread. The main blade has a soft half stop, with no real opening or closing snap. The can opener and the glass cutter have no half stop, with no opening or closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in FAIR condition. It required a little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.
Caption(s), if any, are on the BOTTOM of the corresponding picture(s).

***** NOTE ***** NOTE ***** NOTE ***** NOTE ***** NOTE ***** NOTE ***** NOTE *****
There is a chance that the main blade front tang stamp on this pocket knife AND also on the other four, similar, previously posted pocket knives, may have been described incorrectly. "A (over) G & J (over) PRODUCT....." might actually say,
"A (over) G & O (over) PRODUCT....." It could also possibly say "A (over) G & U (over) PRODUCT....."I do NOT know for sure.
Whichever tang stamp may be correct, I can NOT find ANY information on ANY version (so far).
SEE MY NEXT POST HERE, UNDER THIS TOPIC OR THREAD, FOR PICTURES OF THE FIVE MAIN BLADE FRONT TANG STAMPS.

Coley, hopefully a Germany, multi-tool with glass cutter pocket knife surfaces that has a perfectly clear, main blade front tang stamp that will end this mystery. I absolutely hate having to try and guess what a tang stamp MIGHT say. I want to know for sure what it DOES say. Also, I can NOT find ANYTHING regarding the "Flaming Pineapple", IF that's what it is. It is on ALL five of these particular pocket knives. You think it would be listed somewhere as it is definitely NOT a one-of-a-kind or a VERY rare stamp. The searching is quite frustrating, but the searching does goes on.

Here are the five, "Flaming Pineapple"(?) stamps, that are on the glass cutter tools.
They are posted in the same order as the previously posted, main blade tang stamps.
I can NOT find ANYTHING at all about this symbol or logo.
But, I will keep on searching.

Re: Germany - Multi Tool With Glass Cutter.

Post by New_Windsor_NY »

This morning, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest example to be added to my glass cutter, pocket knife collection. It is a MADE IN GERMANY, one blade, four tools (a can opener, a corkscrew, a punch or awl and a glass cutter), one tang stamp, 3 5/8" closed (not including the bail), multi tool, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "MADE IN (over) GERMANY" The main blade has an ok half stop, with an ok opening or closing snap. The can opener and the glass cutter both have a soft half stop. Both have an ok opening and closing snap. The corkscrew opens and closes as it should, as does the punch or awl. Both of the scales on this pocket knife have issues. But overall, this pocket knife is still in VERY GOOD condition. I did give it a little bit of cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.
Caption(s), if any, are on the BOTTOM of the corresponding picture(s).

Yesterday morning, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest multi tool pocket knife, with a glass cutter, to be added to my collection. It is a MANOS, two blades, two tools (a corkscrew and a glass cutter), one tang stamp (on the secondary blade), 3 5/8" closed, all metal (except for the two "tortoise" handle scales), multi tool, pocket knife. It is also a cigar cutter. The secondary blade front tang stamp says, "MANOS (over) CUTLERY Cᴏ̲ (over) GERMANY" This is my twenty-first MANOS, multi tool pocket knife, with a glass cutter. My other twenty MANOS, multi tool pocket knives, with a glass cutter, have ALL been previously posted under and throughout this topic or thread. The main blade has a soft half stop with no real opening or closing snap. The secondary blade has a weak half stop and an ok opening and closing snap. The tools open and close the way they should, without any problems. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. It did need a little bit of cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

I was fascinated by this journey on this knife pattern.
From the beginning of the posts up to the present.
Knife history and usage is my favorite part of the "hobby"
I started to think the glass cutter may also be a crude can opener.
But the later posts by the OP showed both the glass cutter and an old style can opener, on the same knife.
So a curious combination of tools, but must have been popular?

Where are our German members to clarify?

This pocket knife is in EXCELLENT condition. It did NOT need any cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

This is my third ROYAL BRAND, multi tool, glass cutter pocket knife. My other two, ROYAL BRAND, multi tool, glass cutter pocket knives, were previously posted under this topic or thread. Despite having a broken off and missing pipe stem reamer, overall, this pocket knife is still in GOOD condition. It did need some cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Re: Germany - Multi Tool With Glass Cutter.

Very recently, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife. The secondary blade front tang stamp says, "MANOS (over) CUTLERY Cᴏ̲ (over) GERMANY" This is my twenty-fourth MANOS, multi tool pocket knife, with a glass cutter. My other twenty-three MANOS, multi tool pocket knives, with a glass cutter, have ALL been previously posted under and throughout this topic or thread (one is missing the glass cutter tool). The main blade has no half stop and no opening or closing snap. The secondary blade also has no half stop and no opening or closing snap. The glass cutter opens and closes properly. The corkscrew opens and closes properly. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It did need a little bit of cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

Recently, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest multi tool pocket knife, with a glass cutter, to be added to my collection. It is a ROYAL BRAND, one blade, four tools (a pipe stem reamer, a pipe bowl scraper, a corkscrew and a glass cutter), one tang stamp, 3 5/8" closed, all metal (except for the two "tortoise" handle scales), multi tool, pocket knife. It is also a cigar cutter. The main blade front tang stamp says, "ROYAL BRAND (over) CUTLERY Cᴏ̲ (over) GERMANY" The main blade has no half stop and no opening or closing snap. The pipe stem reamer and the pipe bowl scraper open and close properly. The glass cutter and the corkscrew open and close properly.
