Rare Cattaraugus knife

The Cattaraugus Cutlery Company was started by John Champlin and his son Tint in 1882. It was first incorporated under the name J.B.F. Champlin and Son as a wholesale distribution company based in Little Valley, New York. The business proved to be a successful endeavor, and it soon branched into a knife production company named Cattaraugus.

Rare Cattaraugus knife

Post by Jacknifeben »

Here is a Cattaraugus 42179 three back spring cattle / stock man knife. Never been sharpened or used. Long pull California clip blade a long Colorado spey blade, a sheep’s foot and punch blade. Very happy to have this one.

Wow, that is a beauty. 4 blade stock knives are one of my favorites.

Beautiful! Not many cutlers today have the skill required to make a 4-blade knife.

NICE one Delbert! ::tu::
A pocket knife is still an intimate personal possession of the individual who carries it and consequently deserves the best of materials, finish and workmanship in its production. (Quoted from Boker's 1928 cutlery catalog).
