I think I FINALLY got me one!!

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

I think I FINALLY got me one!!

Post by Meridian_Mike »

I have been looking for this Old Timer belt buckle for a LONG time. (AND I tried UNSUCCESSFULLY to buy one 2 previous times!!)
WELL.... it looks like I FINALLY got me one.
TWICE before , I bought an Old Timer buckle on flea bay and BOTH TIMES, the sellers somehow slipped me a "sorry, I can't find it" kind of a message.(What the heck?)

ANYWAY.... here it is..... the Schrade Old Timer belt buckle.
(Now, I hope this one doesn't get "lost in the mail"....LOL)

I have no idea how many of these were actually made......They hardly ever show up for sale.
Maybe some of you Schrade history buffs can tell me how many were produced.

Thanks for looking everyone!

Will you wear it or will it just go up on a shelf for display?

I am going to create a display case of some sort for this prize. I will probably put some knives with it.

Would that knife be a 61OT or the stainless version? Guess that part doesn't matter.

Maybe a display with the buckle on a belt and your Old Timers that came with a belt sheath lined up on the belt. Just an idea.

Yep, it was a long search and even a couple of disappointments along the way!

Congrats, Mike! And I've had the eBayer trickery pulled on me too, unscrupulous sellers.
