SCHRADES MY TRUE LOVE

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Find myself L@@Kin at those split springs all the time...
Wondering if they make it MORE difficult to assemble the knife?

He forgot to tell ya it's the Don King Schrademeister rug. Available at better pet supply stores in your 'hood.
Here's a closer up pic of Mr B after he just saw a new Schrade in the tube or on the tube or maybe right before he fell out of the tube.

Schrade Walden 880 KON-KAV ::ds::

I was fortunate enough to acquire this 880 out of a collection of Schrades, in a trade with fellow AAPK member MrBlister :D

This is the only Schrade Walden (NEW in Tube) known to have ever come out of his collection ::nod::

Like MrBlister and his "new in the tubes", I can't pass up a decent old Harness Jack, especially a Schrade. This one is older, pre-WWII, with the early Schrade Jigging, peened rivets, and the arched stamp. Along with this one, I have scanned a Buffalo Cutlery jack I traded from one of our men here on AAPK. It is a Relic, but it's MY relic. 8)
I was born in Buffalo in 1944, and lived almost half my life there, and still have some family in Buffalo. Been lookin' for one for years, and probably gave too much of a good knife for it, but it was worth it. Look closely, and you will see who subcontracted it for Buffalo Cut Co!!
Buffalo Wholesale Hardware was the owner of the brand, and they started in business the same year as Schrade Cutlery, 1903!!
