Latest Leverlock Acquisition
I recently obtained this Bower Import German leverlock. It seems to be in decent shape and a good candidate for clean up and repair (broken kick spring). (I’m sorry for the dark photos.)
It is different from my other “springers” since its lever spring extends halfway down the front handle and it has a clip blade rather than a spear point. The handle covers appear to be a dark plastic (slightly shrunken”), jigged to resemble bone. The bolsters are nickel silver and the liners are steel.
Does anyone have an opinion on the German manufacturer? My guess is Bonsa. Thanks.

It's a Bonsa. It should say so on the tang.
Once the spring is replaced, it may have blade peek. It looks like it has been sharpened quite a bit.

I think that is the factory shape for that particular model. I have a mint example with the same blade grind.Bill DeShivs wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2023 8:34 pm It's a Bonsa. It should say so on the tang.

Ken,
Does your example also have the jigged, dark plastic scales?
Thanks,
Neal

I think so. The economy type scales seem to never be two piece.
