TEKC Folder
Here is a folder from a local maker who retired several years ago. I don't carry it a lot, but some, when the look is right.

That doesn't appear to be a "local maker" unless you are in Pakistan.

Re: TEKC Folder
After looking at thousands of knives over a lot of years, it doesn't have the custom American knife look to it.
But it does look like one of the many thousands of knives that come from Pakistan that sellers say are custom hand made in the U.S. I've seen dealers set up at shows claiming they are made in Wisconsin, Michigan etc.
I know this isn't the most detailed answer you were probably looking for but it's all I got......experience.

I believe you. What is depressing is this guy wasn't a table set up at a show - this was an old man and his wife living right here in our town. I am glad he is retired and shut down or things could get embarrassing really quick.

I don't know anything about what Jantz sells.
I do suppose this could be a kit knife or something like that that the old fella assembled.
It just doesn't look like a custom forged blade and handmade handles etc.
It would be nice if one of the custom makers would chime in.

He would occasionally come in the store all dirty and tired looking and his wife who ran the store would say how it was too much for him anymore. Could have been an act. Look, if this thing is a phony, then don't sugar coat it.

I wouldn't sugar coat anything.
From looking at one single picture of this knife using my tablet it looks like a cheap Pakistan made knife.
Obviously with multiple high definition pictures or having the knife in hand maybe I would change my mind, but doubtful. By the way, I don't claim to be a cutlery expert, just an enthusiast.

Re: TEKC Folder
Based on what I found by doing a simple on-line search for “TEKC knife”, I’d say the old fella did not make your knife, but its possible. Not sure where they’re made or by whom. One says made in Texas, another says Oklahoma. I wouldn’t rule out Pakistan.
I did find a company address for TEKC Knives, located in Collinsville, OK which is a Tulsa suburb, so maybe it was/is a locally based business. The address on Google maps shows a Vapes-R-Us located there now. Whether they made knives there or import them from somewhere else…………..

That is the place, and it is now a Vape shop, it sat empty for a while. I am thinking they were phony. Well, that's discouraging. They sold a lot of knives out of that place.
