Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
Not too long ago, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest example to be added to my general pocket knife collection. I did NOT buy the group or lot to obtain this particular pocket knife. It is a USA, one blade, one tool (a cap lifter or bottle opener), two tang stamps, 3 1/8" closed, two springs, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "U.S.A." The tool front tang stamp also says, "U.S.A." The blade has a very crisp opening and closing snap. The tool also has a very crisp opening and closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. It required very little cleaning. I took some pictures and here it is.

The following advertising, fob or key ring, pattern or style of pocket knives, were among various groups or lots of pocket knives that I have purchased over the last couple of years. They now become my latest examples to be posted under this topic or thread. Not one of these pocket knives was the actual target of, or reason for, my purchase. They are however, in good enough condition to be added to my general, pocket knife collection. They are NOT in any particular order.

They are as follows:
Pictures #1 to #5.
ALL are USA, one blade, one tang stamp, 2 3/8" closed (NOT including the loop or ring), tip bolsters, advertising, fob or key ring, pattern or style of pocket knives. ALL of the main blade front tang stamps say "U.S.A." ALL of the blades have a good half stop and a good opening and closing snap. ALL of these pocket knives are in VERY GOOD condition.
Picture #6.
It is a COLONIAL, two blades, one tang stamp, 2" closed (NOT including the loop or ring), tip bolsters, advertising, fob or key ring, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "COLONIAL (over) PROV. U.S.A." Both blades have a good half stop and a good opening and closing snap. This pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition.

More great additions to your collection, Skip!
I will add that the 1958 Packard Hawk was not a well-liked car; one writer referred to it as "a ghastly end to a grand old name." A photo of a '58 Hawk is linked below.

This figural pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I bought. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also becomes the latest example to be added to my general pocket knife collection. I did NOT buy the group or lot just to obtain this particular pocket knife. It is a COLONIAL, one blade, one tang stamp, 2 1/8" closed (not including the bail), bowling pin pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "COLONIAL (over) PROV. R.I. (over) U.S.A." The bail appears to be a homemade replacement. But, it does serve its purpose. The blade has a good half stop with a good opening and closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD+ condition. It did not need any cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

This Barlow was in a group of nine knives I acquired last week. It was dirty, rough and rusty when I got it, and someone didn't do a good sharpening job in the past. I put a healthy amount of effort into it to make it (I think) a pretty decent EDC. I do like Barlows.

Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
This afternoon, my trip to the post office produced these COLONIAL items. They are from 1977. There are two store display cards. Each display card holds six "American Sportsman" pocket knives, for a total of twelve pocket knives. The display cards are connected, but they can be separated. The twelve pocket knives have one blade and are the "toothpick" pattern or style. Each display card measures 8" x 12" Each pocket knife measures 4 3/8" closed. NONE of the pocket knives have been removed from the display card and ALL are in MINT condition. The display cards have NOT been opened or tampered with. They are BOTH in NEAR MINT to MINT condition. All I did was take some pictures and here they are.

Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
I picked up this toothpick style 2-blade Colonial keychain knife. Tang stamp on both blades reads COLONIAL / PROV. U.S.A. It's 2-5/8 long. It needed a fair amount of dirt and corrosion removal, some blade work and a good lube. I like it. I might start carrying this little guy.

Back in February 2021, I bought these COLONIAL items. They are from 1977. It is a store display card and this display card holds six "American Sportsman" pocket knives. Each pocket knife is red and each pocket knife has two blades. Each pocket knife measures 3 3/4" closed (not including the bail). The display card measures 8" x 12" NONE of the pocket knives have been removed from the display card and ALL are in MINT condition. The display card has NOT been opened or tampered with. This display card is in VERY GOOD condition. I took some pictures and here they are.

Officially saying hello to the other Colonial fans here with a family pic. These are the Colonials from my rotation. I own others but these I use all the time. I use other brands in my rotation, but I really like Colonials.

That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend.

Re: Now we have a Colonial thread,Show'em
Recently, this COLONIAL "hobo" pattern or style of pocket knife, arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. However, this particular "hobo" pocket knife was NOT the reason for my purchasing the group or lot. But, it will be added to my general, pocket knife accumulation. It is a COLONIAL, one blade, three tools (a fork, a spoon and a can opener), 3 1/2" closed, three tang stamps, three springs, "hobo" pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "COLONIAL (over) PROV. U.S.A." The fork, back tang stamp says, "STAIN (over) LESS" The spoon, back tang stamp says, "STAIN (over) LESS" The blade has an ok half stop, with no real opening or closing snap. The three tools ALL have a good half stop. The three tools ALL open and close properly. This "hobo" pocket knife is missing the bail and one handle scale. But, overall, this "hobo" pocket knife is still in GOOD, usable condition. I cleaned it up a little bit. I took some pictures and here it is.

Woah crazy. I've got your knife's genetically identical twin, right down to the defects. I've been holding off doing any work on this one until i come across an orphaned scale.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Mon Feb 12, 2024 9:15 pm Recently, this COLONIAL "hobo" pattern or style of pocket knife, arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. Btw, while i have your attention here in the colonial thread, i have to thank you for posting pics of all your blister packs and other NOS stuff from Colonial. It's been invaluable for me for finding manufacture dates in a range of different knives.

That is a strange coincidence!
Regarding the blister packs, you're welcome.

I don't know if you saw this one (1972) that I previously posted.

I haven't, but I have that knife. Well, one just like it but with a few hard years behind it. Or 52 years according to your pack.New_Windsor_NY wrote: ↑Tue Feb 13, 2024 4:50 am I don't know if you saw this one (1972) that I previously posted.
I have another hobo with both scales, and another with neither. If i ever find a stack of 4 scales I'll share.
