Holiday Fire

There are times in each of our lives that rain falls, hard times come and it helps to reach out to our friends and to our God for a little support. This is the place to express those needs, concerns and situations so others in the AAPK family can keep you in their prayers.

Holiday Fire

Post by dlr110 »

If you would say a prayer for a young couple down the road from me that was renting a house and lost almost everything in a fire two days ago. The house is almost gutted from the fire and when I went by to offer my help the lady said all she wanted to find was a few photos and some jeweler that had special meaning to her. I could tell the man was still in shock and disbelief. They didn't have renters insurance and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Dave, I would be willing to kick in a donation directly to the young couple if a way could be found to get it to them. Maybe other AAPKers would do likewise.

I’m in - also, is there a “needs” list and address where we can send a care package - maybe to you David?

Your offers are very kind. The only thing so far is the local Red Cross is finding them shelter and some clothes. We may set up something special through our church but I will let you all know. Right now they are still in shock over the whole event.

I'll be praying. Let us know if there's some way we can donate to them.

I'm sorry for not updating this. I haven't been able to speak to the couple again, I have not seen them nor do I have their phone #.
I was told by a neighbor that they had lots of help from family, friends, the Red Cross and their own church. It sounds like they
are in good shape, if you can say that about such a situation. Also with my surgery and the new meds I'm on I haven't gone much
further than my bed or the bathroom.
