Wenger - Delemont

Post by enuf »

Well, I need to do a little studying on what I have bought. I have known about this case for 30-years and never gave it much thought other than just spinning it once-in-awhile when I was in the little, off the beaten path, outdoor shop. I have known the owner for many-many years, and he is ready to retire, he just keeps going in because he has almost nothing left to do. Anyway, I was back in town and stopped by for a visit and spun the cabinet again and told him, "Let me buy a knife from you". We searched and searched for a key, and he finally said, buy the whole thing and break into it. So, we made a deal. I loaded it and a couple other things up he had handmade, I am afraid he may not be there on my next trip, but I have thought that for the last 10-years, and he is always sitting there alone when I walk through the door. I went back in, and we continued to visit, and he found the key, so I have the key too. I got home late last night and opened it and picked two of the knives out of the window display and also inside the cabinet was two more in the box knives. Pretty cool, they are Official Boy Scout Editions. Anyway, that is one of my stories, I have another for a different post.

Also in one of the windows were a couple of sheaths - the stamping on them is Precise. Was this something different or did Wenger contract them out for their leather work.

Precise was Wenger's US importer for many years.

I like displays. If I had more room I'd get some and fill them up. Just don't have the space.. That's a beauty! J.O'.

I always liked Wenger, I preferred their scissors to the Victorinox spring but the Victorinox is probably easier to repair if the spring fails.

Great find!
