Need sheath for Guardian I

In 1939 Joseph Gerber (advertising agency owner) had custom knife maker David Murphy make 24 sets of carving knife for some of his select customers. Catalog retailer Abercrombie & Fitch saw them and was so impressed with the quality of the knives they wanted to sell them. Thus was born Gerber Legendary Blades.

Need sheath for Guardian I

Post by Psychocat »

I have a Guardian I that I’ve owned for many years but was put away. The clip on the boot sheath broke a long time ago. Any idea where I can get some type of replacement sheath - doesn’t have to be exact same style but would allow it to be carried again - thanks!

Welcome to AAPK. One possible way would be to have a copy, or similar sheath made. Go here viewforum.php?f=48 Scroll down to the Knife related leather work forum. Open it, find someone there whose work you like and send them a PM or email describing what you want. Ask for an estimated cost. ::tu:: Some of them have an email or website link in their signature.

That might be possible, but difficult. The rivet at the end of the clip is put in before the sheath is stitched together. The rivet can be drilled out, but getting a solid metal bar behind it to set the new rivet is the problem.
