Made this little elf ornament last week to help a friend pick a pattern for his yearly collectible he sales. I need to paint still but it came out ok.

Thanks guys.
I like that carving c-wade7!
To me a face is one of the hardest things to carve and get it to look nice like that! Looking forward to seeing it painted!👍

First try at chainsaw carving an owl. I'm not sure if it looks like an owl or an alien. I definitely learned from this one for the next time.

Thanks! Right now I’m using a OCCT carving knife or a Helvi blade in a custom handle. I have some modified kitchen knives also , just depends what I have at hand or what I’m carving (eyes, nose, or roughing out).

Great work. Are you going to carve a bubble machine to go with him?

I thought maybe you weren't old enough to remember that show. Sorry for my poor humor.

Only in my 4th decade, but have seen clips of the show. My boys like to remind me how much I like “old man stuff” like carving, old knives and tractors lol.

Couple whittled out of mullbery and cherry sticks. Going to paint the one like a Canadian goose.

Fun little project Doug, I’m in between anything to do right now but hope to come up with an idea soon.

Thanks. I've had a few people who didn't see a resemblance on the goose. But I don't care. I'm having fun with it and it is just a stick. Going to whittle out a few more stick birds.
