Bassett Trim Trio.
I have a few different variations (as for many years, they were a common giveaway item), but I think this one's the oldest.

Looks like yours is from a lumber yard. Most likely a promotional thing. Mine doesn't say anything on it.
Thanks for all the help and info. I appreciate it.

I've seen them from Italy and Japan too. Folks just called them "key chain knives. J.O'.

I’ve seen them fold inside a leather cover.

I've found odd leather covers in lots before but didn't know...lol.
That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend.

I've got one somewhere that uses the leather cover to hold a pair of nail clippers to the knife.

That looks to be a play tree limb on a road play rug.

Re: What's it called?
Here's a one blade from Old Forester bourbon whiskey. It's stamped LITER/USA. (Can't find any info.) It's really the simplest form of friction folder. The pivot grommet/rivet is just tight enough to keep it closed or open. I pick them up when I see them in junk stores etc. Usually a dollar or two. Wonder if they're still made here? Doesn't seem likely. J.O'.

Re: What's it called?
I had one exactly like the OP on my key ring for years, along with my truck key and house key. I’ve been to all manner of places with it in my pocket, through metal detectors, removed it and placed it in their trays, etc. without any problems.
Last year when I attended my niece’s high school graduation ceremony, I set off the metal detector when entering the building. The security guy at the door asked me to empty my pockets. I had already locked my EDC in the truck, figuring they might not allow it. Without thinking anything about it I dropped my keys and wallet into the tray. He took one look, pointed to my keys and pompously said “You can’t bring THAT in here.” As if it was a 12 gauge shotgun.
Figured it was pointless so I didn’t argue with him. And considering the value I wasn’t about to take it back to the parking lot. I removed it from the key ring and chunked it into the trash bin.
I found another one similar to it for a couple of bucks, which has been on my keychain since then.

Re: What's it called?
Ken, Your story reminds of having jury duty in Baltimore City. I forgot I had my knife with me and I stashed it in a window box full of petunias on a sill at the courthouse. When I came out afterwards and went to retrieve my knife there were 2 others among the flowers. J.O'.

The venerable Bassett Trim Trio is my preferred EDC. It’s cheap, reliable and doesn’t scare knife haters when I take out to use.
