Kershaw Leek

Kershaw began its foray into the knife business sometime during 1974. The company was originally based in Portland Oregon, but most early knives were manufactured in Japan. The first US manufacturing plant was opened in 1997 & the company currently offers knives made in the U.S., Japan, & China. Pete Kershaw (an ex Gerber salesman) started the business.

I received a late Christmas gift yesterday. I told my family it was something I would not get for myself and they got it for me. I really like it.

This is the only Kershaw I currently have. It's the 1570 with a tungsten coated blade

After having this leek with the speed safe must have to say it’s a great EDC . The black auto next to it is just too small ,so after finding this leek at Badger knife show and carrying it will probably sell the auto . The leek is slimmer and longer and that speed safe option is worth it . Paid 55 bucks . My friend also bought a Kershaw and he really likes it . Don’t remember what model .
The Leek 1660 is a great knife for dress or casual . And it is hardly noticeable in the pocket . Being a lefty this knife works great as well .

I posted the first pic under the Kershaw thread but it is a Leek after all. Second pick shows the Leek along with some other recent purchases including a Benchmade Adamas, a Mini Osborne, and a Art Winters Custom.

Mike, you're living proof that the LEEK is an excellent choice for an EDC.

Nice lot Q, way to round out the group. I only have a couple because they keep being given away as well received and very popular gifts. They all like the Teal.

I like the Teal too! I wish Kershaw would make it with a black blade; then I'd have a baker's dozen. ::tu::

I just went back through the whole thread and did see a blue with black blade, but don't think it was Teal. Still a looker though. And I picked this Teal up for 32 bills, that was 1/2 the price of many I saw, and given what you paid several years ago I can't believe the don't sell for more these days. A true bargain if you ask me, worth every cent. Can't belive the price has stayed so low considering how knife prices have soared lately.

Yup, that's mine; they call it Navy Blue (NB) (and it cost me just a tad* more than what you paid for the Teal ::nod::)

Ha ha, some Leeks ain't cheap anymore. I noticed several for sale asking as much as $250 for a rainbow, over $100 for carbon fiber and the exotic handles. Feel fortunate some are still less than $40 in the colors the kids like with plain uncoated blades. Great knife for under 40 bucks. Great value. The Navy looks great with the black blade. Congrats.
