GERMAN stamped, Whale image help.

Post by Not_2sharp »

My 1st post. In my small pile of “interesting” finds is this multi tool pocket knife. Very “Swiss Army” style. Is stamped: Germany, Stainless, Rostfrei on opposite. Whale image w/ SOLINGEN on top of badge. Tried a few searches using ALPHA, Whale etc. Solingen Alpha knives. No luck.

Numerous versions of the whale symbol like the one on your "Swiss Army" style knife were used and trademarked by Richartz, in Solingen-Ohlings. Probably more detail than you need, but I've attached pictures of the applicable pages from Carter's book on German knives. One like your knife appears at the bottom of the advertising strip in the second and third pictures.
