A lot of nice details on that stick!C-WADE7 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 2:19 am Slow day at work so I lopped a branch off a tree in the fence row and used the rough rider to make a little caricature. The tree branch had been pruned before and was in a China berry tree cluster so I didn’t know until I got the brake skinned that it was Bois D’ Arc. Being green it carved fairly easy either way.

Re: Wood carving projects
Been busy with farming but was able to carve out a roasted hotdog like Doug Linker did on his utube a while back. 1x1x6" out of pine.

Re: Wood carving projects
Hope you're all having a great day
a new carving. I used two different stains and added eyebrows, eyes, nose holes and open mouth with my Razortip burner.
I wash my carvings and actually use an electric eraser and sandpaper and I still can't get rid of fuzzy. Oh well it is what it is.

Re: Wood carving projects
Working on a 4th of July gnome. Got to do a little painting now. Made out of 1x1x 4" block of pine. Pictured with a Schrade improved muskrat. Used my Case seahorse whittler and a flexcut v tool to carve it.

Re: Wood carving projects
Looks like the red, white and blue paint are called for. Great job. I find pine difficult to work with sometimes. Great job.
