What's Wrong With This Picture

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

What's Wrong With This Picture

Post by just bob »

This is from a local online auction. The title is - Lot #: 1a - Jack-O-Matic Schrade pocketknife set. The description they give is - Jack-O-Matic Schrade pocketknife set. What is wrong with the picture and description. They have 3 other pictures, but no additional information.

The knife shown on the card is an automatic with a push button, and the knives loaded onto the card show no such mechanism.

And the pictured knife is a toothpick automatic while the knives on the card are easy open jacks

That's what I saw as well. They don't include a picture of the knives with the blades open or mention what brand of knives they actually are. You would assume from the description they are Schrade, but most likely not. The bidding is over $25 with 2 days to go.

That set of knives brought $100 plus about 20% in commission. Higher than I expected. They also had one of those 5 knife sets of the American Eagle Commemoratives made by Schrade with Washington, Adams, etc. in a faux wooden frame that brought $170 plus 20% - that is over eBay price.
