Jantz's Supply has a good selection of import blades as well as one's that they make here in the US. I have used several of their imports from Japan, and they are good quality blades. Their American blades are very good quality, though a bit more expensive.

I have made a few knives with blanks from Alabama Damascus....
(If you like the look of Damascus steel)...

Thanks Dale and Mike. This is for a older man in our church. He has never tried to make a knife. I will pass the info along.
