A Suggestion For Those Who Post In The Counterfeit Forum

I have recently begun posting pictures of recent knives being discussed, I wish everyone would do the same.

I was just following suit with this sentiment about posting pics of knives being discussed that are/might be counterfeit. Appreciated the suggestion and the discussion that followed, thought we were within the parameters of the thread. Thanks for the helpful discussion everyone who cautiously joined.

But no appreciation for the rude last post chastising us for posting here and directing us where ELSE to post a new topic because I wanted to post it here. And did not know some take such offense over nothing and get all bent and complain about us going totally off the rails in their narrow, condescending opinion that was never solicited and isn't eanted if one is going to take that tone. In the future I'll be sure to post elsewhere and to other people so the complaints here are not repeated.

Beauty Clark, no denying. That's why I wanted to buy it too, but couldn't after finding out the truth. Unlike these two. I had no idea these were fakes until after buying when I posted these as new pick ups here at AAPK. Then the nay votes came in. I had a hard time believing because they are so well made, such beautiful vintage Roger's bone-like, so smooth in the action and walk, talk, centering F&F, transitions. And I still don't get how these fakers build such a sweet knife and can still profit by selling them for $60. The Bridge was a little more, but the Elder Mfg was $60. Why not put their own name on it then and have a legit business? They are excellent knives I only post so others may learn without it costing them so many dollars. But you knew going in. These are so good I would feel bad if someone down the line thinks they are real. There is a market for fake Rolex, fake Calvin Klein, fake Chris Reeves. I don't want that. Chris Reeves and Rolex earned their reputation. The fakers did not, they are preying on it. Unethical and fraudulent to cash in on someone like Bokers hard earned reputation to artificially increase the price of a fake knife and calling it a Boker. I saw what that sold for and felt bad someone paid so much. But if you know, your choice. I just don't want to support counterfeiting. Avoid it if I know it. Others results may vary.

Everything else about the knife to what I recall is Boker, it’s just someone tried passing a knife to be something that was very rare but I know the stamp was no such thing. It’s definitely unfortunate someone would shave the tang and engrave but maybe it was done in quite the early days where they thought they was hoping it bring more value to it possibly. Other than that it’s all factory from boker.

Sorry you thought the post was rude. The CONTEXT of the first post is referring to folks simply calling out and giving links to suspect knives listed on eBay. And encouraging the posting of actual pictures from the listing, rather than simply giving the link. Because eBay does not maintain the listing and its pictures for very long after the sale is complete, folks who read the AAPK post and try to access that link may find the pictures no longer available.

That was followed by some posts encouraging other ways to help folks learn about counterfeits. Not simply posting more counterfeits without pictures. And some discussion about whether or not eBay pictures are copyrighted.

My suggestion was simply to post new knives in their own new threads. I think Wayne's post dated July 27, where he re-posted the OP, was an attempt to get this thread back on the original track, but it was ignored.
