Thanks David My showcases are in my upholstery shop ... the wife does her thing in the house, and there is no room for my knives.

This is as close as I can come to a “display wall”. My EDC rotation stays on my dresser waiting for me to decide which will go in my pocket next. The remainder of my collection resides in a various sizes, shapes and styles of storage containers locked in the bottom of a file cabinet.

My wall space is occupied by my other “sickness”

The one on the stand is a Washburn D-94 Ltd. The rest are just a portion of my accumulation.

It is. I also have a banjo, a ukulele, a 1930s square neck acoustic lap steel, 2 bass guitars, a Giannini Craviola classical guitar, several other acoustic and electric guitars of various vintages and makers, a small Yamaha electric 4 pad from kit, a small Yamaha electronic keyboard/synthesizer and a beautiful, hand painted, custom built 1 string Diddly Bow.

Not every instrument in my collection is playable presently. I hope to remedy some of the problems over the winter. Sadly, I am totally clueless on some of those and proficient on none of them.

Just noticed this thread, we've got several display walls in our home:

Living room north wall, some antlers.

Living room south wall on top of piano, oil lamps.

Utility room, all sorts of stuff on display.

Beside my PC nook in the office.

There are several other displays of our worldly possessions around the house. Some folks say it's like a trip to the museum when they visit Starvation Plantation.

Organized my carries and some display pieces in my printer's drawer. I had grand plans for some refinishing, wall mounting, lighting, glass doors, felt lining....

Ended up turning it sideways, blowing the dust off, and dropping some knives in it.

It's pretty much all thrifted or salvaged. With a few harbor freight purchases. The drawer was an estate sale find. It's a small space but it's cozy. Had all those knives in a drawer, good to let them breathe. Even though I use them, i can only carry a few at a time. This way I enjoy them all, all the time. Im hoping the little fan i have pointed up at it keeps the dust from accumulating.

I have not been one to display my knives, other than my Scout collection that I put together a couple of years ago:

But after seeing what you gentlemen have been sharing, I thought I'd give it a try.
I bought this old cabinet thing at a thrift store a few years back, to see if I could make a suitable knife display out of it.

It was obviously old except for the backing, but I could never figure out what it originally held.
Anyway, I removed the plywood backing and covered it with some fake felt (I bought that a few years ago on discount, and have been using it to line the cigar boxes that I use for knife storage), sanded and oiled the whole thing, then reassembled it.

On a whim I decided to make a Schrade display. I can change it up whenever I want.

That looks awesome. In my head that's what mine looked like before I gave up. I wonder if yours held player piano scrolls in its previous life?

I never thought of that. I had wondered if it were a spice rack, and hung sideways to the way I put it up.
It doesn't look to be very high quality, but with my luck it was priceless and I ruined it!

Looks like a good knife rack to me, Reverand! I actually like slanting the knives in the small,sections on each end.

Just redoing the cave. Hung up 64 in a mixed group. Running out of space. Trying to tighten up. Drove 128, 1-1/2" finish nails in the 1/2" board, only hit my thumb once! J.O'.

nice execution, I like the results and it makes me think I maybe overthinking my displays.

Dog: you're right, I did NAIL it, for over and hour! I usually keep the brands separated but its getting harder to do when the various brand displays get full so I had to mix them. J.O'.

I like the ease of plucking a knife from that display JO plus the fact that air can circulate around each knife - well done sir.
