Nice find! They're sweet knives when you can find them, especially if they don't cost an arm and a leg.
Pocket, fixed, machete, axe, it's all good!

Glad you like it Rick, it is a very nice knife. The ACSB is one of my favorites, it looks great on any knife.

I can almost warm my hands by the fire of ACSB.

Re: Latest Canal Street Additions
Beautiful group of fixed blade Canal Street knives Varnik.
Finally picked up this Canal Street made A.G. Russell Cattaraugus Cutlery knife. Been looking for one of these in mammoth ivory for quite some time. I’ve had the stag version before and sold all of them but wanted to keep this particular pattern in mammoth ivory. Not sure of how many of these were made with mammoth ivory, but suspect it was only 100. This one is serial number 071.

Re: Latest Canal Street Additions
This is my one and only Canal Street knife. I don't know if you can really tell from the photos but the front of the blades are highly polished and the back are flat. Was this something that they did or this knife some sort of a second?

I remember Canal Street doing that with the blades. If it's a second, which I doubt, it's not for that reason. It was very common.chickenman62 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 9:06 pm This is my one and only Canal Street knife. Very common on Canal Street knives. You will find that more are done this way than are not.chickenman62 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 9:06 pm This is my one and only Canal Street knife. If that is a 2nd I can't imagine how beautiful a 1st would be!chickenman62 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 04, 2024 9:06 pm This is my one and only Canal Street knife. Re: Latest Canal Street Additions
Thanks for the information. I did think it was too nice to be a second.

Beautiful CS Congress, chickenman62
Perhaps you'll consider posting it in the ACSB thread as well? It would be a fine addition.

I'll take my own advice but in reverse and post this Canal Street made Rigid Wildcat Driller here after posting it in the ACSB thread first!
Although this is not a pattern i collect, I love the ACSB and I am especially fascinated by the interesting asymmetrical grinds on the big ol' fat spear blade

Big ol' canvas to show off the beautiful ACSB. And the blade grinds are certainly unusual. It will stand up to two postings.QTCut5 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 3:04 am I'll take my own advice but in reverse and post this Canal Street made Rigid Wildcat Driller here after posting it in the ACSB thread first!
