Impressive knives, Tony, my first RoseCraft was a smoky-grey Zambezi that I'm very pleased with, but the new model in blue is outstanding also. The perfectly positioned choil makes it a pleasure to handle.

Am I seeing those pictures correctly? Are those double edged blades? The swedge looks like it’s sharpened in both of your pictures.

You're most welcome, Tony, I only wish my reviews had more technical information included in them for members interested in such, there's so much to remember and my memory is on the elevator goin' down not up, so I usually miss a lot of it. Fortunately there are members who do know the information, some from memory, so it gets out there to read in the end anyway.
The very first time the "Zambezi" model was shown here in pictures along with a few other soon to be released RCB's models, I was one of two people who commented they like it, with plenty of them saying how nice the other knives were, but nothing on the "Zambezi". It was shortly after that I bought mine, and have never stopped liking it's looks, so I guess that makes me one of the everyone. I do have a gut feeling that they'll be more widely accepted after this drop.
I'm going to assume that a "Pacific Cutlery Sampson" is a knife designed by Jody Sampson, but when I search them only bali-songs come up, so I don't know what knife these Zambezi's remind you of looks like. It kindda reminds me of the Parker/Frost 3" "Stubby", but then my ole' eyes aren't much better than my memory.

Mark, yes on Jody Samson. Pacific Cutlery and Bali Song were the same, and for only a few years, then they became Benchmade. I have a Jody Samson Pacific Cutlery acquired this year that I haven't posted yet. Some of these knives are marked "Pacific Cutlery Seki Japan" with a pattern number, on one side of the tang, and "Bali Song" on the other side.
Mine has "Samson" with a lion on one side, and "Pacific Cutlery Seki Japan" with "Bali Song" inside the butterfly on the other side.

Look for it in "Other Seki Made" and "Show Off Your Fixed Blades". I will also post it here pictured with a Zambezi. I did not say it looked like the Samson knife ... rather kind of like it, on a much smaller scale. I too have one of the Smoky Gray Zambezis ... love it!

Thanks for the information and picture, Tony, it helps a lot. I certainly see the differences between the 2 knives, and also why the Zambezi remind you of the Samson, but other than the same clean flowing lines and the choil they're in 2 different leagues.
I can't tell if I'm seeing a thumb-stud on the Samson, is it fixed or folding? Thx.

It is fixed ... no thumb stud. What you are seeing is the etching with a lion and Samson.

No box ... just out in the open in my garage/upholstery shop/knife store. I do have 8 ft LED strips up instead of fluorescent lights. I take the photos on a Samsung phone, upload to my computer, and edit. Many thanks TopDog!

I know what you mean, John, some of the brands like Rough Rider, Brothers/Watchman, and RoseCraft Blades to name a few, must have realized they were just treading water in today's knife market with what they were offering, and decided to step-up their game or be lost in the shuffle completely.

The RoseCraft Blades Stinking Creek Sowbelly RCT023-STG is a one-bladed jack that features a 2.7″ D2 modified clip point blade with a brushed satin finish, a half stop, and heavy swedging. It has genuine red deer stag covers with brushed stainless steel bolsters, liners, and nickel silver pins. It does not have a shield. It’s 3.875″ closed, 6.6″ overall and weighs 3oz. This is an original pattern designed by Andy Armstrong.
