Nice D.L. ... I reckon' the only thing better than that for EDC, might could be a "Short-Line" scout knife

I considered that but decided I wouldn't mind losing a long line as I would a short line.

From my research it's circa late 1890's to 1905. It came from an old general store in South Ga. that was owned by the grandparents of a late family friend.

Think about that: ...maybe 130 years old and still a serviceable, usable knife, with a personal connection and local history. What a great piece!

Thank you, Joe. Here's a story about where the knife came from. It belonged to Murry Hall, that started this general store in 1858..
I'm friends with the wife of his great, great grandson. She gave me the knife when her husband passed.

I was very interested in Georgia's history when I lived there. I used to ride my bike around St. Simond's Is. and Jekyll Is., and I would ride to the Horton Brewery Ruins. Built in the 1730s on Jekyll Island. This was identified as Georgia’s first brewery... If it is the brewery ruins, it’s one of Georgia’s first industrial sites. Major Horton’s Brewery fueled the troops at nearby Fort Frederica throughout the late 1730s.
