Anyone know about this knife?

Post by BiggRyno »

Hey I got this knife several years ago as a gift from my wife and daughters. I carry it everywhere everyday. I haven’t ever seen another one exactly like it. The ones I have seen that are similar have an engraving on the stainless ends of the knife and also the inserts are different than what was in there. The ones that are for sale are way more than what my wife would ever pay for a knife. It did have the normal/modern case logo insert that fell out. I would like to see if it’s also possible to get that little insert to glue it back in myself. I would like to know the model number or anything else about it. Thanks!

The model number is 3254, it’s stamped on the knife. The handle covers are laser engraved plastic - per knifedb.com Case called it “Celtic maze”. Probably whatever else you might want to know can be found in the Research section here, by clicking on it in the header at the top of this page, and scrolling down to the section on W.R. Case & Sons Pocket Knives.

The missing logo insert is called the shield. Case will probably mail you a replacement shield if you contact them and request one. Clean up the covers with some rubbing alcohol to remove any grease, fingerprints, etc before you glue it on. See www.caseknives.com for contact information.

The 3254 is what I was confused about. I never saw another knife like mine with that model number. I appreciate the information. I do see that the s/n of this one is 683 out of 1000. I’m kinda conflicted to keep carrying it if it’s one of only 1000 ever made. On the other hand I’ve been carrying it every single day for the last 10+ years and I love using it. Thanks again.

there’s a few for sale on eBay including this one: https://www.ebay.com/itm/186268225440?m ... media=COPY

I agree with others, get a new shield, clean her up, put her in your pocket and kiss your wife for giving you a pocket knife that will outlive you!

There are two things that drive a knife's value:
1) what someone is willing to pay for it.
2) what you can use it for.

The collector's value of that knife is low, due to it having been carried.
The knife now has more value as a useful tool, so I recommend that you carry it and use it! That is it's true worth anyway.
Jesus is life.
Everything else is just a hobby.
