well, the good news is, if you get on a 73 month waiting list you will forget all about it after some years and think it's a bomb when it actually comes. ::super_happy:: ::rotflol::

The wait seems to keep getting longer. On the plus side you pay the price from when you ordered it.

You give them a $50 deposit. Then they bill you just before it ships. The price had gone up $125 since I ordered it.

The key is to order for significant events at least 6 years ahead of time.

Funny story. I forgot about my first one. It came in the mail. I thought it was a wrench I had ordered for work. I threw it in the back of my truck. It got knocked around for a few days getting stepped on and kicked.

I backed up to the dumpster and was cleaning up my truck. Picked up the box smashed the end open on the edge of the dumpster and my Randall Model 1 came flying out!

::rotflol:: ::rotflol:: ....

.... ::uc:: But on a serious note, in 1996 a buddy said, "Hey you want to make $100?" I asked how and he said that if I ordered a Randall and put down $50 for a deposit, that there was a year wait to get it and then I could resell it for $100 more than I paid for it. .... ::skeptic::
... Of course, I never did it and never got the Randall ..... ::doh:: ..... ::facepalm::

I was just joking around, can't believe it actually happens. But I can imagine I would forget all about it if it took 6 yrs to get there. Glad you didn't lose that kind of knife after enduring the wait from hell. I hate waiting 3-4 months when I have ordered a couple Tim Britton customs. If he told me it was 6 years I think the deal would be off. You're a lot more patient than I'll ever live to be. Congrats on enduring that.

That one too Tony, is that Sambar? Fabulous whatever variety. With perfect bumpy, groovy texture for grip and eye candy. A gorgeous knife all around. ::tu:: ::tu:: :mrgreen:

Thomasg, that wasn't there when I started writing or I would have quoted you too. Excellent rehandle and beautiful old knife. Also like the old black and white pics.
