Whats your newest addition to your Buck family and why?

Hoyt Buck produced the first Buck Knife in 1902. Hoyt and his son Al moved to San Diego and set up shop as H.H. Buck & Son in 1947. Al Buck revolutionized the knife industry in 1964 with the infamous Model 110 Folding Hunter. The company's innovative history and attention to quality have made for many great collectible knives.

Had a 110 knock off as a kid. Figured it wouldn’t hurt to add some nostalgia to the collection. Magnacut 110 and 112.

This one came in a collection I recently purchased. Looks like I am going to be keeping most of this collection for my own. This Buck knife is one that I wanted to buy when it first came out in 2010. I was at SMKW and they had one in a display case but it had a broken red arrow head. I think someone must have dropped it. So I passed on this then, but now I have been given another chance to get this one. What a beautiful knife. Love the bloody jasper on this against that black.

Are those bolsters copper or copper plated? Or is it nickle and picking up color from the table?

Those are nickel silver, just color coming from reflections.

Found this under the tree this morning. Custom Shop Buck 112 in Oak Dymalux, Nickel Silver, and 420HC.

Very nice. The 112 is a nice pattern and the scale options in the Custom Shop can really make a 112 shine and your's is a great example. And I think the 420HC is a great steel on a Buck because they have really optimized the heat treat with via the BOS process.

I had seen Oak offered before, but not in Dymalux, so I need to check again. I'd really like to get a 112 in black textured horn, but would go with Oak Dymalux if available now.

Thank you.

It’s my understanding that the Oak that Buck offers in the Custom Shop has always been a laminated wood. They only recently began identifying it as Dymalux. I assume people naturally thought they were getting solid wood because it simply said Oak until a few months ago.

I like that they are more open and honest about it now and I have always liked their laminated woods as well as their solid wood offerings.
