My only Remington, stamped R4688.
Thought I would contribute to the extent that I can. Picked this one up a couple of months ago. Sorry for so many pics, I couldn't stop

The last number is an 8 so it should have cocobolo handles .
Those handles look like pyremite .
The master blade most likely has been replaced .
