I'm Sick

Post by RedRaiderRick »

I have a terminal illness and I caught it from you guys. Here are just a few of the knives I've purchased in the last 5 months.

KAS (knife acquisition syndrome) is not fatal, but there is no cure. The only known treatment is BMK (buy more knives).

Given the plethora of temptations in the world, sharp pointy tools seem rather utilitarian with roots to the beginning of civilization. I think our attraction is that pocketknives are like jewelry and why own just 1 bracelet.

That averages out to just one a month. And you do have something to show as to where your money went.

There is easily another dozen I don't have with me on this business trip. And thank you everyone for comforting me in this time of suffering! As someone said of my addiction, "Its better than hookers and blow."

Don't fret, one day when you are buying 5 a week you will look back on these as the good ole days.

You don't have the "sickness" as bad as some, consider yourself fortunate. 🤭

I do try to keep the symptoms in check, but this particular variant from Japan is brutal.

Seki Fever.

A few here have it. It's an emerging threat...

That's my Etsy store where I sell old knives and sometimes handmade knife accessories to support my knife habbit. Thanks for looking my friend. ::tu::

You definitely have an acute case!
We are familiar with the symptoms, as several of us are carriers, while others have full-blown flare ups.
But from the looks of it you have good taste, so with a steady intake of knives, and daily click therapy, you should be able to maintain continued good health in spite of the disease.
I have never known it to be directly fatal, but it is communicable, and it can cause ... Let's say, trouble with your spouse.
See a doctor if oiling your collection lasts for more than 4 hours.

P.S. AAPK makes to claims to be able to treat or cure this ailment.

::hmm:: ...I've done extensive medical research on this subject, ... ::skeptic:: when knives become "internalized" and seem as if they have "become a part of you" ... ::paranoid:: Well, your illness has already progressed too far. ::disgust:: .... I am sorry to have to tell this; Prognosis Negative!

I may be in remission. I've made it 9 days without buying a knife which hasn't happened in like a year. Although my wish list here and at GP knives is growing. ::shrug::
