Need help! Anyone know about RUKO Knives? Boker made?
Hi knifers,
I found a "RUKO" knife on the bay over here. The seller claims that these were made by Böker for Ruko. Did Böker make these?
This one is from a Ruko "Wildlife Series". Anyone ever seen or heard of Ruko knives???
And what does the WS 40 stand for? Could that be Wildlife Series?
Any information would be helpful & appreciated.
Thanks in advanced!
Tom

Ruko knives was a Canadian company back around 1970. They did not make their own knives but I do not know who made their knives for them.

Hey Tom,
RUKO is an importing company, NOT a knife maker company. They import from Italy, Spain, China & Taiwan. Some of these knives are garbage, some are 'not so bad'. Prices range from $10.00 to $80.00 +, depending on what you're buying. I picked up a RUKO survival/tactical knife (model 161B) back in 2018. I have never used it, so can't comment on durability, strength, etc. I paid $60.00 for it, but it actually retails for $84.00. There are lots of reviews out there on RUKO brand knives. Some good, some great, some really, really bad. Take them for what it's worth.
It could very well be a nice EDC. Personally, I don't believe Boker made that knife, unless RUKO had them make a SFO (special factory order) for them. If Boker did make your knife, then I would imagine it's got Boker quality in it.
Here's a statement from the RUKO site:
"Welcome to the Ruko Website. We are an importer and distributor of sporting and gift related products serving the retail and wholesale trade for over 60 years, with locations in the US and Canada.
We presently carry over 5000 different products including sporting, hunting and tactical knives, swords, replicas, compasses, medieval armor and shields."

Thanks LJ, I appreciate the info. Think I'll just pass on this one then. Who knows how good or how bad it is.KLJ77 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2020 4:48 pm Hey Tom,

The OP knife appears identical to a Boker 5464. Either Boker made, or another company copied Boker's tooling.

Yea man I have a high dollar one well not really a $5 knife I use when I need to cut roots or stuff that I don’t care what the knife blade hits.

Have this fixed blade and a folding lock back that came in a set . Traded for it at a gun show ,got 20 bucks in the pair but retail sticker said 69.99 . Both good users . This fixed blade has gutted and cleaned up several whitetail ,including cutting the pelvic bone . And it’s still holding a edge but could use a touch up . Other than from China not a darn thing wrong with it . Will use it again this weekend.

I've only got this one RUKO fixed blade. Never used it since I got it several years ago. I liked the looks of it and it turned out to be a very sturdy knife. Solid, very nice grippy handle. The nylon / plastic Molly compatible sheath is very nice and sturdy. If I was much younger and capable of trouncing through the woods and fields like yonder years, I would not hesitate to take this knife with me. Although it's china made, I'm impressed with this design.

Very cool collection of stockman's! One has me curious. Second row, second from the right. Black handles, slanted bolsters, oval shield, long pull, swedge. Maker? The handles look like the same kind I have one a Coast Jack knife & a Sears Craftsman Trapper. They were probably both made by Schrade. That's why I'm interested what yours is. Thanks for the Info. Appreciate it!

Howdy folks! Just joined, I'm sorry for bringing for bringing up an old thread but I've been trying to look up more information on my Ruko pocket knife that was gifted to me.
Through my research I found that it is a Eickhorn Solingen brand called slimfast.
It has an Ontario rat1 "clone feel" mine is a bit beaten up and I removed the micro serrations because they didn't do much.
Seems to be built alright. Wish it looked like it did new.
