Do YOU have a CASE XX knife in YOUR pocket today?????

The W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company has a very rich history that began in 1889 when William Russell (“W.R.”), Jean, John, and Andrew Case began fashioning their knives and selling them along a wagon trail in upstate New York. The company has produced countless treasures and it continues to do so as one of the most collected brands in the world.

Yes I do have a Case XX in my pocket today. I picked up this 6318HE for a few bucks at a flea market over the weekend. Oddly enough, the clip and pen blades dont look like they have been used while the sheepsfoot is misharpened to the point of mutilation. Some work with the Lansky turned the crooked sheepsfoot into more of a cope blade.

I always have disliked this kind of mutilated mis sharpened sheepsfoot blades

OC, you did well sir! A worn-but-not-abused knife is better than a brand new one! That one is a beautiful old survivor.

So, I just found this beauty at a local Goodwill. Do I have something special? It’s abalone/mother of pearl.

It would certainly be special in my house!

All the Good Wills I've been in have told me they consider pocket knives to be to dangerous for them to sell. That makes no sense because they all have lots of kitchen knives out where customers can handle them. Too many women or too many Democrat managers?

Fantastic find!!! ::woot:: That is a special knife indeed. Case "Select" models are a cut above the regular Case line as they have stainless steel pins and liners instead of brass. Not going to ask but if you feel like sharing, would love to know how much you paid for it. ::hmm::

All the Case Select knives I've bought have nickle silver liners and pins. They have coupons for a free one year membership in the Case Collectors' Club in their boxes which I have not tried to use because of their age. More importantly Select 6347SS Whittlers had two back springs seperated by a wedge while non-select 6347SS Whittlers had three springs and Select 6347SS Whittlers were avalable with stag. Depending on pattern and time period Selects were significatly better than non-selects in other ways. However, not considering handle sides, the ony upgrade in a Cheetah would be the nickle silver pins and liners. Case did not use stainless steel liners in traditional knives before making absurdly priced Tony Boise and similar knives.

Love the yellow handle knives. They are just classic to me. Been switching between this little lock back and the buck 55.
