Please Advise: ROBI KLAAS SINCE 1834 CRACKED ICE PEARL ALABAMA CRIMSON TIDE TRAPPER KNIVE

Post by CorvetC8+2022 »

I found this knive and it intrigued me, but I'm finding it hard to find any information about it.
I've tried attaching a jpeg picture and a pdf, but the file extension is invalid.
I really want to know if it has any value. I'm not sure if I should put it in a display cabinet or sell it.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance to the knowledgeable people in this forum.

It probably does have value for some fan of the Alabam, ::welcome:: to AAPK!

Your knife is likely a commemorative, as said its value is going to be to a Bama fan. To anyone else it’s just a knife, and probably has diminished value. A fan of another team likely wouldn’t want near it!

The value to a Alabama fan also depends on the condition of the trapper.

With all the above considerations in play, another factor to consider is where the knife was made. It is my understanding that Robi Klaas knives are no longer being produced in Solingen, Germany. The new ones are coming out of China. Does your knife's tang stamp say Solingen on it anywhere?

Sargent Cutlery Company in Florence, Alabama produced after-market Alabama Crimson Tide knives, but most all I’ve seen were Case Trappers.

It’s possible that Jase Sargent could have done this one too.

In my experience cracked ice celluloid is the most volatile out of Germany. Roll Tide!
