I have a good one for you to look at today. Beautiful knife that I picked up from a collector's estate.
Characteristics that I noticed: No brass. No tang stamps. It has a number 8 one its unlocking lever. Jigged bone handles. Built very well. Strong, heavy, and feels really good in the hand. The metal on this reminds me of an old rifle.
4 1/2" when closed and 8" total length when open.
Any ID help would be appreciated.
Thank you so much.

Possibly Henckels, but likely German for sure.
Here's one I have that is pretty close...

That looks like it. Thank you so much! I looked for a good bit and couldnt find anything that looked quite like it.

I have an identical one except for the #8 on the blade release. I was pretty sure it is German and that's reinforced by Glenbads. I was thrilled to find mine.____Dave

I don't have one like it but wish I did. My first thought was French but I'm probably wrong. Beautiful knife. Congrats.
