I have plenty of the redbellies, downys and hairys, but I've not seen either of the pileated that visit my feeders since October, and I've not seen the towhees. I saw what I thought was a brown thrasher fussing with a mocking bird the other day, if so it seems a little early for them to be returning to this area. We generally see Robins by the middle of January but I've not spotted one yet.

At the feeders my first Downy Woodpecker and first Black-capped Chickadee. Elsewhere on the ground two Robins which startled me. The first I have seen here in the winter tho we are well within their range.

I do too dog, here's a old photo of one of the most beautiful of them, these seldom come to my feeders but when they do it make my old heart sing. ::handshake::

Ike I've probably just missed seeing them, usually they will be under the bush kicking and scratching, leaves sent flying. The birds really seem to like that old burning bush, the brown thrashers raise in it every year. ::handshake::

So says Doris Day!

I think this bird flew North to Illinois in order to escape the nasty Winter weather in Florida.

This White Throated Sparrow seemed to have much cleaner black and white delineation, and more brilliant yellow patches than most that I see.

That is indeed a very fine white throat. My first white-throat was in 1965 resting on a slight window ledge at my 5th floor office window over-looking
Michigan Ave.
