...Al Mar, Seki-City, Needle Point, Micarta, Slant Bolster, Etc .... YesYes!! ... You been holding out on us M&M!!! Where's that AL Mar been hiding out all this time?

I wouldn't hold out on you guys, Dog, surely you know me better than that! I've actually had this knife awhile, but ever since that hospital stay my system for posting has gone all to heck, so I'm going over my accumulation daily and picking any random knife to post, and this one caught my eye, again. My organizing has become so mixed-up that I'm sure I'm posting knives that I have already posted, but I try hard to choose one that I'm fairly sure I haven't shown previously. As-a-matter-of-fact, I mentioned a Begg folder I got from Tony in an above post, and doing that reminded me that I don't think I've posted it yet, and I got it quite awhile ago, and it's not the only one!
My advice to you, my friend, don't ever get old!
Just to not leave you hangin'!

A friend of mine calls this knife therapy. It does feel like that for me. Its comforting to sit down in the solitude and listen only to the sound of my tools, and think only of the out come I seek to achieve in using them. Meditative mindfulness

Gifted this same friend my other G96 960. Got this one all banged up in a repair lot, making it pocket worthy is tonight's project.

Your friend would fit right in with us BladeBrothers here on the forum, Zach, perhaps ask him to join? I, and many others use the term "Click-Therapy" for the great feeling one gets when firing an automatic knife, at the same time quenching a thirst to be around, fondle, scrutinize, and overall desire to "play" with the knives we like so much. His term "knife therapy" is pretty much the same thing, and obviously it affects you as well, ending up with all of us here in the "Comfort Knives" thread, right where we belong!

I myself am a bit absent from the forum and from that little slice of heaven I posted, trying to keep my head above water with all the life stuff.

I have mentioned the forum to my buddy. He's about a year into using basic email. He's a bit self conscious about his spelling and writing. I don't think he's keen on joining, unfortunately. I too think he'd enjoy it here. He's a retired disabled Vietnam veteran who never lost his Navy courage. He's had knives his whole life but only somewhat recently got into working on them.

We met online through my Etsy store about a year ago. He bought a group of project knives off of me. I sent him a few extra and a book. He thanked me, and about a month later emailed me to tell me how his projects were going. We've emailed back and forth every day since, and he's become one of my closest friends. He told me that knives have changed his life. Help him to forget the world and his pain. He was a lonely vet before I found him. Now he's got a hobby and a friend who cares. He came into my life as I began struggling with depression. His can-do attitude and Navy courage in the face of his own struggles are inspiring to me, and he lifts me up all the time.

I gave him a project one time. I requested an electricians knife with the screw driver blade reprofiled, jimping cut into the main and new wooden pants. He sent me this oak one first as a prototype to get my feed back then the maple as a final draft. Next to my grandfather collection they are my most treasured pieces.

God bless you, Zach, for befriending your buddy, so many wouldn't have. The whole knife looks terrific, but that reprofiled blade is super well done. I admire those electrician knives except for the screwdriver blade, bur now without one it really appeals to me, and I'm a self professed 1-blade guy.
Almost forgot, I love your world it's my kinda place!

Marco, ... it seems to me you need some major help "re-organizing" your vast knife collection.... so, if I headed off to the GWN, to meet up with you, ... we could organize some items (Al Mars, Schatt and Morgans, Robesons etc...etc... ) right into the U-Haul trailer I will be bringing with me. ....

I think that is a solid plan for getting you back onto track

Mostly. It's a 1919 Schilling & Sons, made by Lester piano. It's a cabinet grand, made of mahogany. The keys are wood with ivory veneers and ebony sharps keys. It belonged to the previous owners of the house. Interestingly, I've measured and am pretty confident it won't fit through my stairway. My house has an add-on to the kitchen, and the basement was extended to match the upstairs floorplan. I think when they dugout the new area for the basement they lowered the piano down then built the floor after. I had thought to just take it apart and get rid of it. But then i found i enjoy being near it

I might someday try to turn it into workbench. Add some shelves for storage and open the front panel so the insides can be seen. It's very cool on the inside. If not a conversion then I'd maybe try to salvage the materials. I've long wondered if i could use the mahogany or ebony on a knife handle.

Today is for thick and heavy comfort, and I have the perfect knife for the occasion!

My Parker 11" "I Never Fail" front-lock slip-joint featuring, a very thick blade highly engraved coffin bolsters and rich bone covers, this knife is thick, 3/4" at it's widest point! And heavy, well, don't get me started, a full 10 oz.'s, my kinda knife!
