This one has dark horn handles, unusual to find on a pallette knife.

Here's a 3-1/2", dark horn LOCKWOOD BROS., Sheffield (1849-present?) un-resharpened, hollow ground. long swedge J.O'.

Some real beauties here ever since MB revived this thread! I've posted this before. Lawton Cutlery Co. Goins says 1890-1895. Located in Chicago. They were importers and jobbers of cutlery. Possibly made by NYK Co. or Walden.

Nice one Dimitri , those palette knives intrigue me.

That a stunner Mike R , Walden did a lot of knives in Horn. Here's one I think is horn ? with what I consider one of their signature shields.

The broken Simmons I know is horn by Walden.

What is a good way tell if the handle material is horn, bone, antler , or plain plastic?
