USMC Marked Electrician’s knife

The Cattaraugus Cutlery Company was started by John Champlin and his son Tint in 1882. It was first incorporated under the name J.B.F. Champlin and Son as a wholesale distribution company based in Little Valley, New York. The business proved to be a successful endeavor, and it soon branched into a knife production company named Cattaraugus.

USMC Marked Electrician’s knife

Post by CarMan »

I have had this Cattaraugus electricians knife model 21087 for a while now and can’t find any info on it. All the WW2 issue electrician’s knives/TL-29’s seem to be larger and with a bail. I am wondering if this is pre WW2 or even a WW1 knife. I also can’t find any other pictures of one with the USMC stamped shield. Any help with any or all of this info would be greatly appreciated. Or would these questions be better listed the WW2 knives area?
As always thank you in advance,
John

I can’t find it in the couple military knife books I have, but looks 100% legit. I wish I had more military knife books, but they are pricey.
