Bucksharp, those are two beautiful knives.

Got in a couple of SFO GEC’s for Franks Cutlery. Thought I missed out since I saw the email for these late, but fortunately he still had some when I contacted him. Two of the new 91’s. Not wild about having 4 blades exactly alike but I get the story behind these and I like stockman’s. These GEC’s are about the most expensive I’ve seen from GEC so far.

Very nice, Mark, but those 4 identical blades is fascinating. There has to be a reason, hopefully somebody has the answer. ::hmm:: ::shrug::

Thanks Mark, they have an insert in the tube that explains that this was a pattern made for miners. They used up their sheepsfoot blade cutting det cord faster than all the other blades so they came up with a stockman with four identical sheepsfoot blades. My thinking is how many people do that now? It’s a nice piece of history but not sure it makes much sense, except to collector’s.

That's interesting, Mark, and a brilliant idea from whomever came up with it; instead of stopping work to find a new knife they'd simply close the broken blade and immediately have access to a new one, a definite time and production saver. I don't know how much use they would be in this day and age, but for anyone who uses their knife a lot and breaks blades it would be ideal. I guess GEC is trying to revive a time in history by introducing this knife, but who knows who else will find it useful.
Those are really nice covers on both knives, and those cool shields top it off. You have some great knives listed in your store currently as well, and they're just in time for Christmas!
