Questions on a Klotzli knife

Post by Firechief501 »

Hello , I don’t often post but I’m hoping someone can provide some information on this knife my son acquired . It’s a Swiss made knife by Klotzli . It’s number 26/ of 50 as a first production run . It’s in its original box with the paperwork and doesn’t seem to have ever been used or carried . Does anyone know if Klotzli is a high end knife or what the value might possibly be with this? Any help , or pointing us in the right direction for further help would be greatly appreciated . Thank you

Hey Firechief....

Not sure what research you have alrteady performed, but I searched on Ebay for Klotzli MW1-Y-CST knife and got a few hits on knives similar to yours - prices ranging from $250 - $305. I also found one just like yours on WorthPoint - just not a First Production run, but since I am not a WP subscriber, no values given.

I would start here to get a feel for who produced your knife: https://www.klotzli.com/de/Home
I found the Geschichte tab (Generational family history) on their web site an interesting read.....unless you don't read German. The company is now run by 6th generation Klotzli siblings - brother & sister.

Under the Services tab, you'll see that the Klötzli knife forge is also the Swiss representative of the following international knife manufacturers:
Spyderco, CRKT, SOG Knives & Tools, Condor Knives & Tools, GANZO, AZERO, Master Cutlery, Ultimate Survival, Gentleman`s Finest, Buck Knives and Fällkniven. Tojiro Japan, Shizu Hamono and Seki Kanetsugu.

Lastly, take a browse on the Shop tab - Klotzli Swiss Made. They produce and sell Klotzli brand "designer" knives, primarily Carving, EDC and Chef.

Since the production EDC knives are all pretty high priced ($250+), it's easy to conclude your #26/50 First Pro Run is relatively valuable and worth hanging on to.

I hope thisw helps.
