I agree he is like a bloodhound on some of these brands or patterns. I enjoy the odd things he comes up with.
Very true Wade. Some of those really obscure old brands never turn up here in the South. I guess they just never made it down this far..

This morning, my trip to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my collection. It is an EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY (1916-1919), one blade, one tang stamp, 3 3/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "EAGLE KNIFE CO (over) PAT. OCT. 1.18 (over) MADE IN U.S.A." This pocket knife is a "cousin" of the ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, the GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO., INC. and other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple construction. Overall, this is my nineteenth, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY, pocket knife. My other eighteen, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY pocket knives, have ALL been previously posted under and throughout this topic or thread. The main blade does have a CRISP half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in VERY GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need cleaning. I just wiped it off.
I took some pictures and here it is.

***** NOTE ***** NOTE ***** NOTE ***** NOTE *****
ANY previous post involving EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY or related pocket knives (CRUSADER & DIXON),
should NOT have "one spring" or "single spring" in the description of the pocket knife. The "spring"
on ALL of these pocket knives, is the "bend" which forms the bottom of each pocket knife.

A couple of days ago, my visit to the post office produced this multi tool pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the latest example to be added to my collection. It is an EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY (1916-1919), one blade, one tool (a cap lifter or bottle opener), one tang stamp, 3 3/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. This pocket knife does NOT have a bail. The main blade front tang stamp says, "EAGLE KNIFE CO (over) PAT. OCT. 1.18 (over) MADE IN USA" The main handle side is a ruler that measures in 8ths of an inch. The main handle side says, "SCOUT KNIFE" This pocket knife is a "cousin" of the ALLEN CUTLERY COMPANY, the GEO. SCHRADE KNIFE CO., INC. and other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple construction. This is my second, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY, "SCOUT KNIFE." Overall, this is my twentieth, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY, pocket knife. My other nineteen, EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY pocket knives, have ALL been previously posted under and throughout this topic or thread. The main blade does have a WEAK half stop. The main blade does NOT have an opening snap. The main blade does NOT have a closing snap. The cap lifter or bottle opener tool opens and closes with no problem. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.

Yesterday afternoon, my visit to the post office produced this pocket knife. It now becomes my latest example to be posted under this topic or thread. It also became the most recent example to be added to my collection. It is a CRUSADER, one blade, one tang stamp, 2 7/8" closed, all metal, pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, "CRUSADER (over) TRADE MARK (over) MADE IN U.S.A." While it most definitely is NOT an EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY pocket knife, it DOES fit into the "cousin" category. It is a "cousin" of the Allen Cutlery Company (1917-1925), the EAGLE KNIFE COMPANY (1916-1919), the DIXON CUTLERY COMPANY (1920) and the other cutlery companies that manufactured pocket knives of a similar, simple, pattern or style. This is my third CRUSADER pocket knife, my second with one blade. My other two CRUSADER pocket knives were both previously posted under this topic or thread. The main blade does have a GOOD half stop. The main blade does have a GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a GOOD closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
