My latest Schrade

Schrade Cutlery Company was founded in 1904 by George Schrade, and his brothers Jacob and William Schrade. In 1946 Imperial Knife Associated Companies, (IKAC; an association of Ulster Knife Co and Imperial Knife Co) purchased controlling interest in Schrade Cut Co and changed the name to Schrade Walden Cutlery. In 1973 the name was changed to Schrade Cutlery. In 2004 Schrade closed due to bankruptcy.

This forum is dedicated to the knives that are the legacy of this company. This forum is not the place to discuss the replica knives currently being imported using the Schrade name.

Good grief Ike!! That is absolutely some of the best bone I've ever seen on a knife. Just fantastic! Great little knife too!! ::tu:: ::tu::
I certainly appreciate that, thank you. It is a very nice little knife in my opinion, glad you like it too.

Very sweet bones. The color and jigging is great. Like that shield and an equal end pattern too. Great score. ::tu:: ::tu::

Rancher, I agree with Kerry ... that is a very nice 51!

I found what may be an oddity with the same knife.
Believe it is a 51OT Big Timer, but the tang is stamped only "Schrade U.S.A.", nothing else. Solid feeling knife ... too bad someone used the spine as a hammer and scarred the blade with a stone. Anyone seen one tang stamped like this?

Appreciate ithe confirmation Tongueriver ... I had never seen one like this before, and will always remember it in case I see another. Are any other Schrade knives stamped as such?

I have a weak memory that maybe the large stockman 858OT did not have OT in the tang stamp. I don't have mine anymore so I can't be sure.

I thought the same thing, TR. So I went and checked mine, but it had the model number stamp.

You're right, TR. I'm sorry, I was thinking no model at all like Tony's. I reread your post, and i see now that ours were alike.
I need to start paying attention! :D

I just got this Schrade Walden bone handled 895 off of evil Bay. I couldn’t resist. Paid less than a $20 bill but I will say it’s more fun to find these for next to nothing at estate and garage sales. The main blade has the smallest nail nick I think I’ve ever seen!

Posted this on finds of the day,
For me that’s going down stairs and looking through stuff. A very nice Carpenters Special, except the shrinking handles.
Enjoy another one of LK’s finds

Thank you very much my father picked some nice pieces and stuff because he liked it.
Not sure how long ago he bought this. He has been gone since 08 so not sure how much it has the handles have shrunk in the last 17 years.
