Union Cut Co. Tri Fold Pocket Knife

The KA-BAR brand originated as a trademark of the Tidioute Cutlery Company. Tidioute was later taken over & renamed the Union Cutlery Company which continued making the brand until Union eventually adopted it as the company name in 1952. Cutco Corporation later acquired the company in 1996.

Union Cut Co. Tri Fold Pocket Knife

Have had this one for many years. This has jigged bone handles, 9" overall 5" closed.
Tang stamp NO-STAIN STEEL. Has UNION CUT CO. OLEAN NY stamped on liner.

Nice! It’s a great design. Some of them had a serrated fish scaler spine. I have one like it but stamped Case Bradford. I suspect Union made it also. If you haven’t seen it there’s a good discussion about these tri-folds here https://www.allaboutpocketknives.com/kn ... hp?t=68340

Ken, Thanks for the link. It looks like most of the ones in that thread are Black synthetic handles. The bone ones are harder to find.
My knife is likely an earlier knife, pre KA-BAR. without the fish scalier spine and no locking lever. I understand the NO-STAIN STEEL tang stamp is also an early stamp.

Great knife Barry. They also came in yellow celluloid with a multi colored fish inlay shield.I've had 2 that had"Lyle" stamped on them.
