Power outage

Post by C-WADE7 »

We had a storm come through that knocked out power to half the town, so I’m at our restaurant with a generator running trying not to lose $3500 worth of food. It blew out table of the porch here which is 12’ long 2x10 and 2x6 construction. The only plus is in the 4 hours I’ve sat here I’ve caught up on my knife sharpening duties.

I hope the power is restored soon Coley and life returns to normal. It’s a terrible feeling to try and “save” something when you have no control over the fix. Prayers sent for peace and understanding as well as for the utility workers struggling to get power restored ::pray::

We got some of the south end of that storm Coley but it wasn't very strong here. Is there anything I bring you or come up and try to help you with?

Glad you're okay, it could've been much worse.

Thanks guys, I live several miles out of town and the rainy and wind were strong here but it only lasted about 15 minutes and no real damage or issues here. A friend called my wife about the table so we decided to go to town and see how everything was. Luckily we realized a problem, because our lights worked but the GFI plugs on the wall were tripped and wouldn’t reset and ice maker has an alarm that blinked power fault. There were 5 places with lines down in town but the Electric Department was on it and did a great job. Power was back to normal about 1:45am.

I know it's always the cliche' thing to say, but the important thing is that everyone is okay. That being said, I hope the power comes back on soon, that's a lot of money in food, so I'm hoping for the best for you!

All’s good now, back online in the wee hours of the morning(1:45am). Long night but worth it to save the food cost. I’m thinking about a stand by generator in the future.

My electric was out 31 hours, from Friday around 5:20 PM until 12:41 this morning. Tons of trees down around the 'hood, including right by my building. There's a totalled red car in front of the blue one.

Goodness, y'all must be practicing up for hurricane season! It's only 12 days away.
Sure has been some rough weather all across the nation. Those tornadoes are scary things, along with straight line winds.
Glad no AAPK folks have had to report any injuries or deaths.
