Hiroaki Ohta "Jess Horn" style knife

Post by kamagong »

I need to stop visiting knife websites. All the pictures of beautiful knives are making it hard for me to maintain my self-control. It doesn't occur often, but once in a while I come across a knife that I just gotta have. This is the third time its happened.

I came across this knife last week. Bam! It was lust at first sight. The stainless bolsters, flat-ground blade, and popcorn-esque stag all combined to make one gorgeous knife. I know that the pictures aren't that great, but trust me on this one this knife is special. It just might be the most beautiful knife I own.

Fit and finish are first rate. The stag as you can see, is exceptional. I don't know what else to say, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves.

Ordered my first custom knife yesterday, an OHTA that I posted already in the 'Knife finds of the Day'
thread. While I was looking at them I spent hours agonizing over two knives, a 109 and a 111, one in
Mammoth Ivory and one in Stag. Ordered the 109 in Mammoth and I couldn't be happier.....I thought.
I spent a restless night thinking I may have chosen the wrong knife............so woke up and took
another look............too difficult to decide so I ordered the 111 too. I thought wrong, I can be
happier!!! Can't believe I did it, but it's done now.

Posting seller pics of both knives here, please enjoy. ::ds::

IM, it's now official. I hate you.

Naah, I'm just pullin' your chain. I don't really hate you but there is a little envy peeking out around the edges. I became a Hiroaki Ohta fan the first time I surfed in on the knife I posted in "Most Beautiful Modern Knives" thread. Someday... Someday...

Enjoy my friend. They are both knives which are hard to describe adequately with words. I'm going to go with a simple but heart felt, WOW!!

Wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
